Technical Support Job Description:

Hayes Instrument Co. has been serving the surveying and engineering industry in the southeast for over 30 years. As of January 1998 our services have been available Nationwide. Look for our ads in State Surveying Newsletters, P.O.B., Professional Surveyor and other publications.
We are a factory authorized distributor and service center for Topcon, Nikon, Sokkia and Spectra as well as most of the vendors of surveying supplies. In addition to surveying instrument sales and leasing (Worry Free Lease) we also have a full line catalogue on line at

Job position – Survey Technical Support and some telephone sales

-Full time position is available immediately for our Shelbyville TN location.

-Provide telephone, webinar, and occasionally on-site technical support directly to end 
 users for surveying instrument hardware, data collectors, and software products.

-Provide technical support to inside sales associates.

-Sell instruments when the opportunity present.

-Periodic travel will be required.

-Salaried position commensurate with past performance and experience. 

-Includes bonus based upon sales, 401K plan, health insurance, paid vacation and sick days and profit sharing pension plan. 

Skill most desired:  
-Positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed in a team environment.
-Experience in making customers happy.
-Broad knowledge of land surveying and construction surveying.
-Prior field experience with land surveying or construction instruments a plus.
-Surveying, construction staking or mapping background a plus.
-Strong technical aptitude with focus on problem solving skills.
-High energy level and the willingness to travel occasionally.
-Good written and oral communication skills.
-Strong computer, CAD and Microsoft Office skills.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently.
